Rollins College

2019 — 2023

After graduating in May 2023, I step into the world with a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a double minor in Creative Writing and Film Studies. Over the course of my time at Rollins I have participated as a student panelist for a roundtable discussion of Teresa Carmody’s The Reconception of Marie with the author and three professors from the English department. Two academic years in a row I was invited by a professor of the English department to work for the Comparative Drama Conference as a coordinator. I also spent all four years of my time at Rollins working part time in the Theatre and Dance department as a member of the carpentry crew and served as Master Carpenter for two productions.

Writing Endeavors

2021 — Present

For one year I worked on a creative thesis writing a five episode screenplay for an original modern fantasy television story. The project taught me so much about time management, organization, and scheduling meetings with my committee of professors. The thesis also forced me to juggle multiple projects at once as I was still taking on full course loads for those two semesters. However busy I may have been, I consider those semesters to be the most fun I have had in my entire academic career. Not only was I able to flex my own creative muscles in world building, character work, and act structure, but I was given several opportunities because of it: I was granted the Grace Warlow Barr scholarship for “excellence in creative writing.” I was also granted the Howard Fox Senior Thesis Award for “outstanding performances over their career as an English major.” To learn more about my screenplays please contact me.

Four of my own original poems were also published in the school’s literary magazine The Brushing Literary Magazine; two in Spring 2022 and two in Spring 2023.

Etc.

Outside of my academics and my writing, I am interested in learning how to make things working with my own two hands. My experience in carpentry has led me to be more interested in technical fields including tiny house and cabin carpentry. I have also taken an interest in painting and sewing over the past few years. There is nothing quite as gratifying as seeing something you made function and work in the world. I am always excited to learn something new.

I am also a big nerd who loves TV, film, video games, table-top role-playing games, books, music, genre fiction, and attending conventions.
